How much is 1 KwH?



A kilowatt-hour (kWh) is a unit of energy that is equal to one kilowatt (1 kW) of power used for one hour. A kilowatt is a measure of power, and a kilowatt-hour is a measure of energy, which is the amount of power used over time.

In layman's terms, a kWh of energy is equivalent to:

  1. A 50-inch LED television has an energy consumption of approximately 0.016 kilowatt-hours (kWh) per hour of usage.

  2. Most ovens have an energy consumption of around 2.3 kWh per hour of usage.

  3. Electric dishwashers use around 2 kWh of energy per load.

  4. An electric water heater typically uses between 380 to 500 kWh per month
